2 dead, 10 injured as buses collide

PORVORIM: Two bus drivers died and 10 passengers were injured when two private buses collided with each other at Ghandarpala in Mahad-Maharashtra in the wee hours of Saturday.

PORVORIM: Two bus drivers died and 10 passengers were injured when two private buses collided with each other at Ghandarpala in Mahad-Maharashtra in the wee hours of Saturday.
According to the Mahad police, the mishap took place at about 2.30 am when one bus (MH-04-G-6224) was proceeding from Goa to Mumbai while the other bus (MH-08-E-9949) was going from Mumbai to Ratnagiri.
One bus was in the process of overtaking a vehicle when it collided with the other bus. The impact was such that both drivers, Yellapa Damodar Nagappa (30) from Goa and Aniket Patre (24) from Ratnagiri died on the spot. The injured passengers were shifted to a hospital, where two of them are reported to be serious, police said.
