PANJIM: The Calangute Police arrested two persons for allegedly assaulting friends of a man from Thane.
According to the police, one Karim Munavar, a native of Mumbra Amrutnagar Thane, Maharashtra, lodged a complaint that the accused Ciajit De Souza 41, resident of Anjuna and Sahil Kashinath Jadhav, 18 from Parra, assaulted his Pratik Alhat and Sultan Shaikh near the temple at Calangute for no rhyme or reason.
The accused also allegedly abused the complainant with filthy words and threatened to kill him and his friends.
A case has been registered against both the accused under sections 324, 504 And 506 (ii) read with 34 IPC. The accused were later released on bail. Further investigation is in progress, police added.
