2 injured in Saligao accidents

Two persons were seriously injured in two separate road accidents at Saligao on Thursday.
In the first accident reported near Hotel Samrat at Saligao at about 8 pm, one Mr Alvares (35) was seriously injured after he was hit by a lorry (GA-03-T-0049), which was transporting concrete for housing projects from Saligao-Pilerne.
Alvares was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment. Calangute police rushed to the site and took the lorry driver into their custody. The lorry was also detained for further investigation.
Saligao Sarpanch Bholanath Ghadi Sankhalkar also rushed to the site and took stock of the situation.
In another accident, a girl from Saligao was seriously injured when a coconut palm fell on her while she was proceeding in her two-wheeler, thereby dragging her to a distance. The girl suffered multiple head injuries and was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
