PERNEM: In Pernem Taluka of 17 panchayats, 8 panchayats were won by Congress in Mandrem. In the Mandrem constituency all the 8 panchayats winners were supported by MLA Dayanand Sopte.
All 9 panels who were supported by MLA Babu Azgaonkar won in Pernem area.
Two of the panchayats Tuem & Paliem faced tie breakers. In ward 5 of Tuem panchayat, the seat was won by Suhas Naik with 94 votes and in ward 1 of Paliem panchayat the seat was won by Prashant Palyekar with 117 votes.
