PANJIM: The Porvorim police arrested a 25-year-old woman from Ponda for allegedly assaulting police personnel at Porvorim.
According to the police, Akshay Mandrekar, police constable of Porvorim police station lodged a complaint that near Planning and Statistics, office building, at Pundalik Nagar, Porvorim, accused Afreen Shaikh, 25 from Ponda abused the complainant and his staff Prasad Sawant who was also performing his duty on Porvorim Police Station Robot-8 vehicle.
The accused assaulted and obstructed both of them while performing their lawful duties and damaged the mobile phone of Prasad Sawant and also pelted stones on Robot-8 vehicle thereby causing damage.
The incident occurred on January 20, 2024.
