CANACONA: While all three students kept under observation at Community Health Centre (CHC) were discharged in connection with the food-poisoning incident at Shri Mallikarjun Vidyalaya on Thursday, another student complained of abdominal pain on Friday morning.
According to CHC sources, the student was shifted to the hospital for observation. Doctors later confirmed that the student’s ailment had nothing to do with Thursday’s food poisoning incident and he was discharged with a certain dose of medications.

Meanwhile, all the three students who were kept under overnight observation were discharged on Friday morning, while all attention is drawn on the outcome of the FDA tests.

The Goa State Human Rights Commission (GSHRC) has taken suo motu cognizance into the food poisoning outbreak at Canacona school on Thursday demanding a reply from the government and school authorities.
The commission Friday sent notices to chief secretary, education secretary, director of education department and chairman of Shri Mallikarjun High School to reply by July 9.
Around 88 students took ill and were admitted to Primary Health Centre at Canacona and Margao Hospicio after they consumed contaminated mid-day meal on Thursday afternoon. Some were discharged later.
