VASCO: The Vasco police on Thursday arrested three persons identified in the viral video where a group was seen assaulting a mentally challenged man on false charges of kidnapping a minor at Kharewado, Vasco.
The police arrested Saudagar Rain (25), Basvraj Rathod (32) and Anwar Kaliger (26), all residents of Vasco.
Vasco PI Kapil Nayak said that the accused persons formed an unlawful assembly and allegedly assaulted the mentally unsound person from Puducherry with blows, slaps, kicks, and sticks, causing him injuries. The victim has been admitted to the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour (IPHB), Bambolim for treatment.
PI Nayak has appealed to the public not to take the law into their hands and to hand over criminals to the police station for further action.
