PANJIM: In a relief, all the three passengers, including a British national of Goan-origin, who were found COVID-19 positive on their arrival to Goa from United Kingdom, have tested negative for Omicron variant.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane informed that the samples of all the three passengers, who had arrived in Goa on December 10, sent to National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), are found negative for Omicron variant. Last week of the total five samples sent for genome testing, four had tested negative for Omicron variant while one test result was awaited.
With this, so far, nine samples have tested negative for Omicron variant, while reports of few are awaited.
Rane said all the three passengers have been discharged from isolation at PHC Cansaulim and will continue to be in home isolation.
On Thursday, four travellers from UK were found COVID positive, on their arrival at Goa international airport.
