PANJIM: Special Shramik Express Train of Konkan Railway departed from Karmali Railway Station at 12:48 pm carrying 1556 passengers to New Alipurduar, West Bengal, Subsequently another 72 passengers were boarded at Margao Railway station making total 1628 passengers on board,
Another Special Shramik Express Train No. 05034 left from Margao Railway Station to Araria in Bihar at 3:16 pm carrying 1628 passengers on Thursday. Special Additional Collector, Shashank Tripathi; Deputy Collector Bardez Mamu Hage and other senior officers of district administration, Konkan Railways and Police Department were present at the time of departure of train at Karmali Railway Station.
SP South, Arvind Gawas, IPS; Special Additional Collector, Sanjiv Dessai; SP, Sammy Tavares; SP, Serafin Dias and other senior officers of district administration, Konkan Railways and Police Department were present at the time of departure of train at Margao Railway Station.
The people who boarded on the trains were stranded in Goa due to ongoing nationwide lockdown. A proper medical screening and other formalities of the passengers were carried out before they boarded on the train.
All the passengers were served with food packets, ORS packet, biscuit packets, wada pav, five water bottles per person and sanitary napkins before boarding the train. The entire operation was monitored by District Magistrate North Goa R Menaka, IAS, District Magistrate South Goa Ajit Roy, IAS, Special AC Shashank Tripathi and Deputy Collector Bardez Mamu Hage under overall supervision of Kunal, IAS, Nodal Officer for Interstate Movement Cell.
