PANJIM: Only 38.91 per cent of the students have cleared the HSSC examination held from June 7 to 14 by Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE). 700 students passed out of the total 1799. The exam was for those students who wanted to improve their percentage as well as for the failed candidates.
As per the result declared by the Board on June 21, the pass percentage of girls was 40. 14 %, while 38.12 per cent boys cleared the exam.
Of 1094 boys, 417 cleared the exam and of 705 girls, 283 girls passed.
The Science stream saw maximum pass percentage of 40.33% with 219 students clearing the same of the total 543.
Arts stream reported pass percentage of 32.48% with 151 students of the total 462 clearing it, while the pass percentage of Commerce stood at 26.53% with 104 students achieving success .
The Vocational stream reported 56.21 % pass percentage.
