CALANGUTE: Police busted a gang selling nearly 400 fake memory cards in Calangute and arrested four youth from Mumbai in this connection.
According to reports, Calangute police received information that fake mobile phone memory cards were being sold at the entrance of the Calangute beach near Bandodkar statue.
A raid was conducted by a police team led by Porvorim DySP N C Raikar and four persons were caught red-handed in the act.
The accused were later identified as Saddam Hussain (21), Sajid Khan (22), Kamlesh Keshwani (21) and Raju Rai (24), all from Mumbai.
Cash worth Rs 12,010 and 386 fake memory cards were also recovered from the accused.
The accused informed police that they were selling each memory card for Rs 100 and admitted that all memory cards on display for sale were fake, police said.
