PANJIM: A 41-year-old woman from Sanjay Nagar, Porvorim, ended her life by hanging on Saturday, police said.
According to the police, the deceased, wife of a taxi driver, was undergoing medical treatment for some abdominal illness for the last three months and was upset over the illness. She was married for the last 15 years.
On October 21, 2023, at 9.38 PM, Porvorim Police received information that the deceased, Deepa had committed suicide. The police visited the spot, drew a scene of occurrence, and shifted the body for preservation pending post-mortem examination.
A case under section 174 of CrPC was registered and further investigation is in progress with Police Sub Inspector (PSI) Sitaram Malik, police added.
