Suvarna Govekar, a 42-year-old resident of Aatil Peth, Dicholi, went missing on Diwali day. A missing person complaint was filed at the local police station, prompting a search operation. During the search, information surfaced that someone had drowned near the Dhakkar area of Pilgaon.
In response, the marine police, fire department, and local police joined forces to conduct a search and recovered a body from the water. It was later confirmed that the deceased was Suvarna Govekar.

According to his close acquaintances, he occasionally visited the Pilgaon ferry dock for walks. His body has been taken to Bambolim Hospital for post-mortem, while further investigation is ongoing by the Dicholi police.
News of Suvarna’s death has left the community in Aatil Peth deeply saddened. He was known for his friendly and cheerful nature, and his untimely passing has cast a shadow of grief over the locality.
