MAPUSA: On Thursday, the Mapusa police registered a theft case against unknown persons who broke into the Remy photo studio, and stole cash amounting to Rs 2.95 lakh. Besides, the thieves also broke the locks of five other offices in the opposite building, Laxmi Bhavan.
The Mapusa Police received information about this incident at around 9 am on Thursday when the staff of Remy photo studio came to work and discovered the shutter was broke open and the cash missing. Among the five other offices which were broken open, a doctor claimed that Rs 50,000 in cash was missing from his consulting room.
Later in the day, a complaint was filed by the Manager of Remy photo studio, Shetal Nagvekar.
The police have registered an offence under Section 157 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). PSI Yogesh Gadkar is investigating the case.
