BICHOLIM: A 56-year-old resident of Vhalshim-Bicholim died after he was knocked down by a rider on the main road at Vhalshim-Bicholim on Wednesday.
According to Bicholim police, Premanand Pandurang Sawant, a native of Kel-Pirna, Bicholim but presently residing at Vhalshim, had gone to purchase vegetables.
On his way back home, while crossing the road, he was knocked down by a rider Pradeep Naik.
Premanand was first rushed to PHC Bicholim but died on his way to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim. The body has been sent for postmortem.
Police have registered an offence against the rider.
PSI Bharat Kharat is investigating the case under the guidance of PI Filomena Costa.
