Herald impact: Another woman claims she was robbed in Margao

MARGAO: A Herald report on Wednesday of an alleged robbery attempt and attack on woman by unknown persons at the Comba railway underpass in Margao prompted another woman to raise her voice about a similar crime in the town during the wee hours.
After reading the report on Herald, Romalina Coutinho, a resident of Varca contacted the reporter and informed regarding the incident. She and has demanded a strict vigil in Margao. 
Romalina, who was on her way to Margao at 5.30 am, said that she was allegedly followed by some unknown persons on the two-wheeler over bridge at Margao. Near the BSNL telephone exchange, the robbers dashed their vehicle against her two-wheeler and snatched her handbag and fled. The woman informed of having lost at least Rs 2500 cash and some photo ID proof. 
The woman said, “I have been travelling to Margao and back for a long time but Margao has never been that unsafe. The police need to secure the town even during wee hours.” 
It may be recalled that a woman was allegedly attacked and robbery attempt was on her by some unknown persons at the Comba railway underpass in Margao. The woman had filed a complaint with the Margao Town Police urging the police to assure security to two-wheeler riders at the Comba railway underpass.
