PANJIM: A Haryana-based bouncer was among the six hotel staff arrested and nine girls rescued by Crime Branch (CB) sleuths in a raid on a massage parlour operating out of a hotel at Arpora on Wednesday night.
CB officials said that Lichies Spa & Saloon situated in a starred resort was doubling up as a prostitution den. “We received a tip-off that prostitution racket was operating out of the spa,” said an officer.
The men identified as Sandeep Bhagi (36), from Delhi; Rajesh Kumar (26) from Rajasthan; Amit Agarwal (32) from Uttar Pradesh; Ashit Komi (27) from Jammu and Manjunath (27) of Karnataka, all of whom worked at different positions in the resort and bouncer Mehtab Singh (26) have been arrested under sections 2, 4, 5 and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and remanded to three days police custody, whereas the girls, originally hailing from Manipur, Assam, Sikkim, Mumbai and Karnataka were rescued and lodged at state government-run Protective Home at Merces.
The statement of the girls will be recorded by a government-appointed panel in the Home which will ascertain whether they were forced into the illicit business.
