6 jr scale officers ‘paid’ sr scale salaries: Cong

Seeks CM’s intervention; Demands that they be immediately posted to their respective posts as senior scale officers

MARGAO: Claiming that six officers, who were promoted in February to the senior scale, are still working as junior scale officers, the Congress on Wednesday sought Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant’s intervention and demanded that they be immediately posted to their respective posts as they were drawing senior scale salaries.

The GPCC spokesperson Urfan Mulla said, “The officers drawing the salary of the senior scale are still working as junior scale officers. The Congress demanded that they be immediately posted to the respective postings as they were drawing salaries of senior scale”.

“How does the government ignore and commit such blunders that people have been getting higher salaries in the last 5 months and working on the same scale,” he asked.

The Congress demanded that Chief Minister look into these serious issues where public money paid to government servants should be utilised properly according to their posts.

“The Chief Minister should initiate action against the person/s responsible for such acts in the Personnel Department for such blunders. As per the survey conducted by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) Goa the unemployment rate hit an all-time high of 34.5%. With the timely promotion of the said personnel, more posts will be created and youth will get job opportunities,” the party said.
