A 65-year-old woman was rescued from the well at Assagao on Wednesday night. The woman was identified as Sumati Kavthankar from Sawantwada Assagao. The well was located near the Gunpowder hotel. The incident occurred at 4.24 am. The fire services took more than one hour to rescue the elderly woman. The rescue operation was conducted by Girish G. Gawas, Bhagwan Palni, and Sanil Banaulikar. The firefighters put an extension ladder and rescued the lady who was handicapped. Dnyaneshwar Sawant and Yogesh Amonkar were also part of the operation.
