7 anganwadi workers for revocation of termination

PANJIM: Seven anganwadi workers and helpers on Thursday started their sit-in strike at Azad Maidan, here, demanding revocation of their termination orders and to reinstate them immediately. 

Speaking to reporters, union leader Adv Hridaynath Shirodkar said that the services of seven anganwadi workers were terminated only because he was affiliated to a political party i.e Congress. All these anganwadi workers and helpers were office-bearers of the Goa Union of Anganwadi Workers, of which Shirodkar is the advisor.

Shirodkar said that the Director of Women and Child Development Deepali Naik has clearly mentioned in the termination orders that she was unaware that Shirodkar was a political representative of Congress and that these anganwadi workers with the help some of the anganwadi workers and helpers assisted the Congress by violating the Model Code of Conduct.
