VASCO: The Mormugao Taluka Enforcement Squad conducted inspections in Baina on Thursday to identify violations of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act 2003 (COTPA).
The Enforcement Squad booked around seven cases for violations and recovered fines of Rs 1,400 from the shops.
As per information provided by Mormugao Mamlatdar Dhiren Banaulikar, the squad which was led by Mormugao Taluka Maria Fernandes and GOACAN Co-ordinator Roland Martins were accompanied by office staff of Vasco Talathi.
“During the inspection at Baina, the squad found violations of COTPA and therefore fines were imposed on seven shops which totals up to Rs 1,400,” Banaulikar added.
