PANJIM: About 77.43 per cent polling was recorded in the by-election to Ward V of Sirsaim village panchayat on Sunday.
Of a total of 350 voters, as many as 271 voters including 135 men and 136 women cast their votes.
The Goa State Election Commission (GSEC) said that no untoward incidents were reported during the poll and the polling process remained peaceful.
The counting of votes will be held in the chamber of the Bardez taluka mamlatdar at Mapusa on Monday, January 29 from 9 am onwards.
All three candidates are in the fray as the ward is reserved for women candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC) communities.
