8 COVID deaths in last 24 hrs

PANJIM: Eight COVID-19 patients died in last 24 hours as death toll surged to 450. However, the relief is that number of active cases has dropped to 4,923 on Saturday from 5,009 reported on the preceding day. 

The mortality bulletin, released on Friday revealed eight deaths of patients aged between 45 years and 80 years. Of these, two deaths were reported within 24 hours. 

A separate Health Bulletin on the status of COVID-19 in the State further revealed that Goa recorded 445 new cases on Saturday. A total of 523 COVID-19 patients recovered on a single day with total recovery count standing at 29,527. The recovery rate of the State has further improved to 84.60 percent.

Total confirmed cases stand at 34,900.  On Saturday, 83 persons were hospitalised for undergoing treatment for COVID-19 while 287 opted for home isolation. On the bed capacity at COVID Care Centres, North Goa has 276 beds vacant of the total 545 while in South, 650 out of the total 1006 beds are vacant.
