 Discourse on hypnotism today

MAYEM: Zantye College Bicholim will organise open discourse on hypnotism with demonstration on December 8 at 2 pm. Those above 14 years will be allowed to participate in the programme. The motive behind organising the programme is to raise confidence and concentration. The session will be guided by a hypnotist from Goa.
Shiva pooja at Taleigao
PANJIM: Om Shiv Mandir, Shivnagar, Oitiyant, Taleigao will be celebrating its 11th anniversary on December 8 where pooja of Lord Shiva will be performed by executive committee member of Om Shiv Mandir Sanjay Maitry and his wife. The pooja will be from 7 am to 11 am and will be followed by various religious and traditional functions. On the same day there will be competitions for children such as fancy dress, dance, one act play, small drams organized by children. On December 9, there will be natak titled ‘Char Panchar’ at 8 pm.

Zenito remanded to 6-day custody
PORVORIM: Zenito Cardoz, the prime accused in the assault of staff and vandalism of a bar and restaurant at Nerul, has been remanded to six days police custody.
Cardozo, who had surrendered before the Fast Track Court on Friday, was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class and Porvorim Police secured a six-day remand.
It may be recalled that some 20-25 masked persons had entered the bar and restaurant on August 22 by assaulting the security guard and damaged property worth about Rs 20 lakh.
Police succeeded in arresting four accused and they have been remanded to judicial custody, while the other accused are absconding. PI Baburao Parab is investigating 
Usgao local kills self 
PONDA: A 31-year-old man from Hanuman Nagar in Tisk-Usgao reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his house late Friday night. Police informed that Sagar Shinde reportedly ended his life when his wife had gone to her maternal house along with their three-year-old child, while his mother was at her daughter’s house.
Colvale house burgled
PORVORIM: Burglars broke into a house at Mushirwada-Colvale and decamped with cash and gold worth Rs 80,000 on Friday. In her complaint, Unnati Khanolkar told Mapusa police that burglars entered her house by breaking open the rear door sometime between 9.30 am and 3 pm and stole gold ornaments worth Rs 65,000 and cash of Rs 15,000. The Mapusa Police has registered the offence under Sections 454, 320 IPC. 
‘Kidnapped’ Canacona minor traced 
CANACONA: A minor girl, who was reportedly kidnapped from her house in Salcete, was traced at Agonda beach on Saturday.According to Canacona PSI Prashal Dessai, a woman had filed a complaint at Margao police station about 2-3 days ago stating that her daughter had been kidnapped from their house.A Canacona police team was on the lookout for the kidnapped girl and eventually noticed the girl moving along with a boy at Agonda beach. Both were taken into custody and they were later handed over to the Margao police.Even though the Canacona Police did not divulge further details, sources in the locality informed Herald that the couple was staying on an isolated hillock by erecting a temporary hut. They had reportedly gone to the beach on Saturday, when some policemen recognized the girl from a photograph that was given to them.
Prayer meet at Canacona
CANACONA: The 25th all religious prayer meet organized by Vividha Institute and citizens of Canacona will be conducted at Chaudi-Canacona on December 8, near the Canacona Mamlatdar office, Chaudi, from 3 pm onwards to pass ‘World Humanism Message’ with a theme ‘Lead us from darkness unto light.’ It was informed that representatives from various religions will join hands for world unity.
