Mapusa: North Goa District Hospital (NGDH) Mapusa administered the first dose of Casirivimab and Imdevimab anti-body cocktail on a 81-year-old Covid-19 positive patient who is a cancer survivor with multiple co-morbidities including diabetes, hypertension, ischaemic heart disease and post mastectomy.
“NGDH is the first government hospital in the state to do so,” Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane informed in a tweet
The anti-body cocktail drug will benefit and prevent further progression of the disease and reduce mortality, he added.
Drug majors Roche India and Cipla had last week announced launch of Roche’s Antibody Cocktail in India priced at Rs 59,750 per dose for the treatment of mild to moderate COVID-19 in patients who are at high risk.
