PONDA: Failure of the authorities to clean a nullah by the roadside in Paunwada, Kavlem has led to it getting choked, water overflowing on the road and posing a risk to commuters, school children and pedestrians.
The dangerous flow of water has washed away the soil here turning the area into a huge pond posing a risk to road users, basically children.
The Portuguese era cross drain along the Kavlem-Talavalim main road was also choked with mud, plastic and debris.
Locals say that during the monsoon, rainwater flows from the hill and passes through the culvert but now it spills onto the road and creates a lot of nuisance since the outlet is chocked with plastic and other garbage.
Meanwhile, Kavlem Sarpanch Manuja Naik, Deputy Sarpanch Sushant Kapileshwarkar and Priya Doifode inspected the area.
