VASCO: The Airports Authority of India on Monday inaugurated the work of a pedestrian footpath on the NSD Junction Jairam Nagar Road, at Dabolim.
This work will be undertaken under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the Chicalim Village Panchayat. “The work signifies the commitment of AAI in working closely with local bodies aimed at synergistic development of areas surrounding the airport for the overall improvement of facilities” said Gagan Malik, Airport Director of Goa International Airport.
The AAI has planned several other development works in adjoining areas in the coming days under its Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability banner which include beautification schemes and providing environmental support equipment to the Chicalim Village Panchayat according to the need of the hour.
Sebestian Periera, sarpanch of Chicalim VP stated that they appreciate the CSR responsibility taken up by AAI and will be working closely with them for the integrated and better development of facilities in panchayat areas
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Roberto dos Ries and Maria Mascerenhas, panchas of Ward No. 3 and 1 of Chicalim VP, Secretary Sainath Padwal and AAI officials.
