MARGAO: Swati Kerkar of the Aam Admi Party and Savio Rodrigues of the Goa Su-Raj party filed their nomination papers for the South Goa Lok Sabha seat on the last day today.
After filing her nomination papers, Swati told the media that her strength lies in the aad admi of the state, having taking up social issues over the last one decade and half. She said the people of South Goa would not fall prey to machinations of politicians who are out to divide voters on the basis of religion and caste.
Replying to a question, she said her social work over the years in various fields will keep her in good stead in the coming election.
Shallom told the media after filing his papers that though the Congress is up to some tricks, he has still gone ahead and filed his nomination form. Goa Su-Raj Party’s Savio Rodrigues filed his papers in the presence of party president Floriano Lobo, while city-based lawyer, Adv Jawahar Dias, Balkrishna Salgaokar filed their papers as independent candidates.
