MAPUSA: The Aam Aadmi Party candidate for Mapusa by-election Shekhar Naik, in his manifesto released on Tuesday evening, has promised to augment the water pipelines in the constituency and make Mapusa garbage free within six months.
On waste management, the manifesto states that litter bins would be placed in markets, parks and other public places. “Effective, sensible and affordable waste management solutions will be implemented rather than importing costly infrastructure designed from foreign countries,” says the manifesto.
The manifesto also focuses on the environment, through tree plantation and rejuvenation of springs and water bodies. On the law and order in the constituency, the manifesto says that the party aims at improving it and making it citizen friendly.
On traffic management and transportation, AAP plans to decongest the city and make the Mapusa bus stand state-of-the-art with a focus on cleanliness and safety.
