MARGAO: The former home guard Vimal Shirodkar is known by many for years of service in Margao and has had many local have visited her after she retired. This time, the visitor was MLA Atishi from New Delhi who has been appointed as the Goa-in-charge for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Atishi, who was in Goa for the last few days, paid Vimal a surprise visit at her residence and conveyed AAP’s Chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s gratitude for joining the party. Atishi was accompanied by AAP’s Goa convenor Elvis Gomes, who stated that it was an emotional moment for Vimal when Atishi turned up at her doorstep.

Vimal was also surprised that her joining was noticed by the AAP camp in Delhi that monitors State affairs.

“Vimal had joined AAP after seeing the work of AAP government in Delhi under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal. That was taken notice of by AAP’s leadership. When Atishi landed in Goa, she expressed a desire to meet her. It became possible today and it made Vimal happy. That was the moment that will have a lasting impact when a common person like Vimal was considered as a ‘VIP’ by AAP,” said Elvis.
