VASCO: A warehouse at Verna Industrial Estate is reported to have caught fire on Thursday at around 6.30 pm.
According to sources, the fire broke out at the Central Warehousing Corporation ( CWC) ( Govt of India Undertaking ). This facility stores various products of different companies such as fibre cables, tyres and other commodities. The fire was so huge that it was visible from far. However, the exact cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.

Verna fire station sources informed that the as soon as they were informed about the incident, fire tenders were sent to the site. Fire tenders from Vasco and Margao were also pressed into service to extinguish the fire. Around six fire tenders were pressed into service to extinguish the raging flames.
A fire department source informed that the loss is estimated to be nearly Rs one crore. However, no one was injured in the fire.
