PANJIM: An accident between a truck and two cars led to a traffic jam at the Kadamba plateau on Monday. However, fortunately, there were no casualties even as the cars suffered damages owing to the force on impact.
“The Maharashtra registration truck was en route to Ponda when it banged into a Mercedes car, which in turn dashed against a WagonR. There were no injuries. We have registered a case under the Motor Vehicles Act and sent the truck for RTO inspection,” said Old Goa PI Jivba Dalvi.
The driver, he said, was subjected to an alcohol test and the result was negative. “We are investigating whether the accident happened due to a fault in the vehicle, which would be established after the RTO inspection or alternatively, if the driver was overspeeding. As of now, we have booked a case under MV Act,” the officer added. Normal traffic resumed after the truck was towed to the police station with the help of a crane.
