Miraculous escape for child on railway tracks

MARGAO: A train driver Monday applied brakes in time to save a young child who was running on the tracks between Margao and Balli stations, a railway official said.  Konkan Railway (KRCL) Public Relations Officer Baban Ghatge said the incident happened at around noon and that the train was plying between Karwar in Karnataka and Pernem.  “The train driver noticed the boy on the tracks and applied the brakes. He then picked up the child  and handed him to PSI Mahesh Naik of Cuncolim Police Station. Police then tracked down his parents,” he added. 
Going into further details, the railway officials explained that loco Pilot Suresh Kumar, while working the T. No. 70103 DN (PERN-KAWR DEMU) noticed the boy (possibly aged three or four years old) running in the centre of railway track at KM.458 between MAO-BLLI.  After stopping the train and  then picking up the boy, he handed the child over to PSI Naikand Constable Fayaz at 12.45 pm. Goa Police added that the child had been handed over  to his mother Naju Khatun, wife of Mohammed Sayed from Bihar, who are living under the care of Ashish Fal Dessai from Balli.
