PANJIM: Goa recorded eight new COVID-19 positive patients on Tuesday, taking the State’s total tally of active cases to 39. Since January, the State has had 46 confirmed novel coronavirus cases, of which seven have recovered.

As per the bulletin issued by Directorate of Health Services (DHS), eight suspect cases of COVID-19 tested positive on Tuesday. Of these, four had travelled by train from Delhi and three from Maharashtra.
One of the patients is from among the seven who had gone to West Bengal to deliver barges, of which three had tested positive last week.
“Currently, they are managed at ESI hospital (COVID), Margao. Their condition is stable,” DHS said. In all 39 patients are undergoing treatment at COVID hospital.
Of the 332 samples tested for the virus, eight reported positive, while 316 were negative. Reports of another eight patients are awaited.
There are also nine suspected COVID-19 cases, including fresh six cases, admitted in the isolation ward of Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC).
Around 373 travellers were put under facility quarantine on Tuesday, while another 109 inter-state domestic travellers are under home quarantine.
