PANJIM: The ‘Murgao Action and Vikas Samiti’ has demanded immediate arrest of the culprit, involved in the sexual assault on seven year old school girl in Vasco on Monday.
Speaking to media persons in Panjim, the Samiti President Sankalp Amonkar said that a memorandum has been submitted to Mormugao Deputy Collector condemning the incident. The Samiti has demanded strong action against the culprit and people who are responsible for negligence.
“The shocking incident has raised an alarm that girl children in schools are not safe,” Amonkar said. He said that Murgao Action and Vikas Samiti demand installation of CCTV cameras in all schools through government funds.
“All the schools, within jurisdiction of each police station, should be given protection. School bus drivers and conductors should be asked to produce a character certificate mandatorily by the police and education department,” Amonkar said.
