Mapusa: Mhadei activists on Tuesday gheraod the ADEI of Bardez taluka, and confronted him over the advisory issued to students and teachers forbidding their participation in competitions and events with the ‘Save Mhadei’ theme.
Activists Mahesh Mahambre and Hrudaynath Shirodkar said that they were shaken by the advisory putting students and teachers under restrictions.
“The diversion of the Mhadei river is a burning issue, but the Chief Minister, who is also Education Minister, is trying to shut down activities related to the Save Mhadei campaign. Goa is becoming the next Taliban.
The CM has stated on record that the diversion of water to some parts cannot be stopped. Then why has the State government filed a petition in court, wasting taxpayers’ money? This is a conspiracy,” alleged the activists.
