PONDA: Expressing concern over the increasing number of COVID cases in the State, Marcaim MLA Sudin Dhavalikar on Thursday said Adpoi and Gaunem with 27 and 17 positive cases respectively are likely to be declared as containment zones
The MLA informed that he has discussed the matter with the Ponda Deputy Collector.
Adpoi falls in Durbhat-Adpoi-Agapur Panchayat, while Gaunem comes under Bandora Panchayat.
Wadi Talaulim has reported 2 cases, while Caswada Talaulim has detected four cases, he informed and added that the above panchayat areas fall in Marcaim constituency.
Dhavalikar said he had asked the sarpanchas to initiate safety measures and provide essentials to the infected areas, which are likely to be declared as containment zones.
Earlier, in Ponda, parts of Bethki Khandola, Curti Khandepar and Usgao were declared as containment zones due to rising cases.
