Agonda woman succumbs to burns injuries

CANACONA: An elderly woman from Agonda who had suffered burn injuries when she had accidently fallen with a kerosene lamp in her hand, on Saturday night succumbed while being treated at GMC on Sunday.
Puni Pagi, believed to be in her eighties, had suffered extensive burn injuries; sources said that she was coming out of her house to investigate why some dogs were barking, when she tripped and fell down. As there was a kerosene lamp in her hand when she fell, it ignited the combustible material lying around the house. This caused her with extensive burn injuries all over the body. 
She was rushed to Canacona Community Health Centre with extensive burn injuries.
As the hospital is ill-equipped to handle such emergencies, the floor doctors on duty after administering first aid amongst other medical attention referred her to Hospicio District Hospital.
She was later shifted to GMC where she succumbed while being treated on Sunday.
