PANJIM: The All Goa Private Bus Owners Association (AGPBOA) has urged the State government to institute an inquiry by a retired Judge of High Court or District and Sessions Court into the functioning of the GoaMiles App taxi service.

AGPBOA General Secretary Sudip Tamhankar brought to the notice of the government the plight of nearly 30,000 taxi operators, whose livelihood has been affected following starting of the GoaMiles taxi services in 2018.

He said that the government should immediately institute an inquiry under retired Judge of High Court or District Court and the said inquiry report be completed within two months.

Tamhankar said that it was shocking that the taxi aggregator obtained a stay against the government’s decision to take over their counter and appealed to all taxi drivers to remain united and stand up for their fundamental rights and fight for what is theirs.
