The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has accused the BJP-led government in Goa of allowing illegal nightclubs to operate in the state and failing to maintain law and order, holding Chief Minister Pramod Sawant responsible for the situation.
Addressing the media during the ongoing Zilla Parishad (ZP) election campaign, AICC in-charge for Goa, Manikrao Thakare, said the BJP government has failed to fulfil the promises made to the people. He asserted that public dissatisfaction would reflect in the ZP polls, where voters would “teach the BJP a lesson.”

Thakare alleged that law and order in Goa has deteriorated significantly under the current government. He further claimed that permissions have been granted to run illegal nightclubs across the state, raising serious concerns about governance and public safety.
“The BJP government has failed on all fronts. The collapse of law and order and the flourishing of illegal activities clearly show the government’s inability to govern,” Thakare said.
The Congress leader reiterated that the ZP elections would serve as a referendum on the BJP’s performance in Goa and expressed confidence that people would vote against what he described as misrule and broken promises.
