PANJIM: All India Congress Committee (AICC) in-charge of Goa desk Dinesh Rao is arriving in Goa today and will tour various constituencies and interact with frontals and various departments of the party.
On Monday, Rao will visit Canacona and meet the Block Congress committee members at 4 pm followed by his interaction with the Quepem Block Congress committee members at 6 pm.
On Tuesday, Rao will tour Sanguem constituency and meet the Block Congress committee members at 4 pm and interact with the Curchorem Block Congress committee members at 6 pm.
On Wednesday, the AICC in-charge will meet Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress office-bearers at 10 am, Youth Congress office-bearers at 10.30 am; Congress Seva Dal office-bearers at 11 am, NSUI office-bearers at 11.30 am and Congress Media department office-bearers at 12 noon and Social media Department office-bearers at 12.30 pm.
Later at 4 pm, he will meet the Calangute Block Congress committee members. All these meetings will be held at The International Centre Goa, Dona Paula.
Rao will also meet various party leaders during his four-day programme.
Earlier, Rao was scheduled to tour Saligao and Calangute constituencies but now his visit to Saligao constituency has been cancelled and he will tour constituencies in South Goa district. Early this month, Rao had cut short his three-day Goa visit citing personal reasons.
Rao had so far visited three constituencies in North Goa district and will tour all 40 constituencies to take review of the party organisation at the grassroot level ahead of ensuing Assembly elections.
Meanwhile, newly appointed membership facilitator Rajesh Griglani arrived in Goa and took charge of party’s digital membership.
Former Union Minister and Senior AICC election observer for Goa P Chidambaram will be on his first visit to the State Goa on August 25 and 26 after his appointment by the Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
Chidambaram will meet and discuss with various leaders and functionaries of the party during his two-day visit. He will interact with GPCC office-bearers, frontal organisations, District and Block Congress presidents and will take inputs to work out strategies for the upcoming Assembly polls.
Chidambaram, who has been appointed by the AICC to oversee election strategies and co-ordination for Goa Assembly elections, will also visit the Congress House, Panjim at 10 am on Wednesday and the South Goa District Office, Margao on August 26 where he will meet leaders of North Goa and South Goa district respectively.
