A delegation headed by AITUC General Secretary Christopher Fonseca said they should be allowed to be given permanent fixtures based on their past service with the company.
“The services of all the lifesaving guards and those in other allied services must be regularized on the permanent rolls of the department of tourism,” Fonseca said. Drishti is a contractor to the Tourism department.
In a memorandum to the CM, they also asked that pending regularization workers be granted temporary status on the department’s roll as well as a minimum salary of Rs 21,000 per month to the guards and those in service as well as entitling them to service conditions including leave, holidays and overtime.
