PANJIM: Alert Mapusa locals on Thursday nabbed an accused person, who had snatched a gold chain of a woman, and was fleeing from the area. Later, the accused was handed over to Mapusa police. Surprisingly, he is the son of a maid, who worked in the house of the woman, who was robbed.
According to police, the mother of the accused, Nagraj Siddappa Hulennavar, 32, a resident of Khorlim, Mapusa, worked as a housemaid in the residence of Sunita Vikas Pawaskar, from Vithalwadi, Mapusa. The victim said that the accused Hulennavar trespassed into her house in the morning and snatched her gold chain, weighing 16 grams worth Rs 1 lakh. The complainant raised an alarm after she realised that there was an attempt to rob her. Alert neighbours caught the accused.
