Alleged Sting Operation Near Mollem Check Post Captures Police Extorting Money from Motorists

According to information received, a two-day sting operation was allegedly conducted near the Mollem check post without the knowledge of the police.

During the operation, police personnel were allegedly seen stopping vehicles around 500 metres before the Mollem check post and collecting money from motorists without issuing any official challans. The alleged acts were reportedly captured on camera.

It was further alleged that around 11:00 AM, one group of police personnel would leave the spot and another group would arrive and continue the same practice.

when we approached the police and asked how much collection had been made for the day, the officers allegedly hid the money and left the spot.
