MARGAO: The gram sabha of Ambelim Panchayat on Sunday resolved to reconstruct the village panchayat ghar, a gymnasium and conference hall under the golden jubilee funds allotted under the Deendayal Panchayat Raj Infrastructural Scheme.
The meeting chaired by deputy Sarpanch Tyron E Fernandes resolved to reconstruct the village panchayat ghar, gymnasium and conference hall and further resolved to use the grant of Rs one crore to construct a community hall after acquiring the necessary land.
Members of gram sabha expressed need to develop and tar various roads in village and gram sabha adopted resolution in this regard. Further gram sabha members expressed and resolved that there was a need to install streetlights along the road from remote ward Voratolli to the market for the benefit of locals.
At the outset, some of the members questioned the Chair over today’s gram sabha when Assolna village is celebrating the church feast today. After much discussions spanning over half an hour, the gram sabha finally commenced with the members discussing the developmental projects.
