MAPUSA: The united opposition alliance led by Congress and consisting of Goa Forward Party (GFP) and Shiv Sena on the eve of Diwali will protest against the defection of MLAs to the BJP by burning an effigy of ‘amdarchorasur’ on Sunday, October 23, at Bodgeshwar Temple, Mapusa, at 11 am.
Hitting out at the BJP, Congress leader Vijay Bhike said, “The BJP thinks they can do anything and get away with it. They stole 10 MLAs in 2017 and repeated the same in 2022 as power has gone into their heads.”

He further said that BJP is using all means to destroy democracy. “People should come and take part in this event to protest against such corrupt activities of the BJP. If any MLA wants to change the party, then he or she should resign and recontest,” Bhike stated.
