CUNCOLIM: An ammonia gas leak was reported at fish meal plant at Cuncolim Industrial Estate on Friday afternoon.
According to information available, the incident occurred when the workers were releasing the excess ammonia gas in the water tank but it accidentally leaked outside.
Fire tenders were rushed to the site immediately. No causalities have been reported, however some workers reported suffocation after inhaling the gas. The fish meal plant was immediately shut down and the situation was brought under control. No casualties were reported in the incident.
