PANJIM: In a surprising move, the State government shunted out Dashrath Redkar as Director of Environment.
In one of his last executive decisions, Redkar on Thursday issued a corrigendum on restricting loud music till midnight and not till 6 am. Soon after he issued the corrigendum, he was transferred.
Dr Geeta Nagvenkar has now been appointed as Director of Environment with additional charge of Member Secretary of Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) in addition to her duties as Director (Administration), PWD and additional charge of Executive Director of SAG.
Redkar’s sudden transfer has shocked many, who feel that it was due for using the corrigendum on timings.
