PANJIM: Stating that the Goa Union of Anganwadi Workers has instigated the agitation by provoking the workers of Angadwadi to hold the protest, Akhil Goa Rajya Anganwadi Karmachari Sanghtana urged to the Anganwadi workers and helpers not to fall prey of any such Union.
Addressing the media at a press conference on Tuesday, Sunita Murgaonkar, President of Akhil Goa Rajya Anganwadi Karmachari Sanghtana said that the demands of Angadwadi workers have been tabled at Chief Minister’s desk and CM has assured to fulfill the demand at the earliest. “Government has fulfilled almost all our demands and has assured to fulfill the ones which are pending. The newly formed union, ‘Goa Union of Anganwadi Workers’ is playing divide politics and has provoked and forced the anganwadi workers for agitation,” said Murgaonkar.
“The Anganwadi workers, working in the State of Goa are being paid far better honorarium compared to the other States. Government is ready to fulfill our pending demands but it will take time since no procedure can be completed within two days span,” added Murgaonkar.
Reportedly, a week ago Anganwadi workers under the banner of the Goa Union of Anganwadi Workers had submitted a memorandum stating their demands to the Directorate of Women and Child Development.
