MARGAO: Another incident of the sinking of the road was reported at Margao, the road leading from Madel to Comba, on Thursday, as locals once again criticised the Public Works Department and Sewerage and Infrastructural Development Corporation of Goa Ltd (SIDCGL) for the substandard works.
The locals noticed the portion of the road being caved in and soon it was reported to the officials of the SIDCGL. It is pertinent to note that a few days back similar incident has been reported at the Old Market circle, here, wherein a large portion of the national highway was caved in.
Reportedly on July 7, PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar had informed the media that the concerned contractor has been asked to replace the whole stretch of caved-in road. However, now yet another incident of caved in road exposed the substandard works of the concerned authorities. The locals have demanded strict action against the constructor.
